A dance film workshop for all ages with different types of neurological diagnoses. During the workshop each participant creates a portrait of themselves based on a memory from their life. The memory is interpreted through poetic movement and images accompanied by a short text and music.
The goal of the workshop is for each participant to experience the transformation of a real experience to an abstract, poetic dance film.
This workshop is part of Maia’s artististic research on choreographic collaborations with people with different minds.
The photos are from a workshop facilitated in Loviisa, Finland for Kuntopaja – an organization for young, unemployed adults with different types of challenges.
